The Law As­so­ci­a­tion is ad­vis­ing the open­ing of the 2025-2026 Law Term will take place on Tues­day, 16 Sep­tem­ber 2025 from 10am at the Hall of Jus­tice.

The cer­e­mo­ni­al open­ing of the law term usu­al­ly fea­tures a for­mal pro­ces­sion of judges, le­gal of­fi­cers and mem­bers of the Bar, fol­lowed by an ad­dress from the Chief Jus­tice on the state of the ju­di­cia­ry and is­sues af­fect­ing the ad­min­is­tra­tion of jus­tice. The event takes place in Port-of-Spain, of­ten at the Hall of Jus­tice or near­by, and typ­i­cal­ly draws sig­nif­i­cant of­fi­cial at­ten­dance.

As a re­sult, there are usu­al­ly tem­po­rary road clo­sures and traf­fic re­stric­tions in the sur­round­ing ar­eas to ac­com­mo­date the pro­ces­sion and se­cu­ri­ty arrange­ments.
