A woman and man were shot and in­jured by a sol­dier dur­ing a fight in San Fer­nan­do on Sun­day night.

Ter­mi­ka Phillip, 32 and Ka­reen Bur­ton, 29, both of Princes Town were at the cor­ner of Sut­ton and Gor­don Street San Fer­nan­do when they got in­to a phys­i­cal al­ter­ca­tion with a 37-year-old Lance Cor­po­ral.

The sol­dier told po­lice he be­came fear­ful for his life and drew his li­censed firearm and fired two rounds at them. Bur­ton was shot in the up­per right leg while Phillip was shot in the up­per right arm.

They were tak­en to the San Fer­nan­do Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal where they were treat­ed and are in sta­ble con­di­tions.

Po­lice seized a Glock firearm and a Firearm User Li­cense per­mit from the sol­dier.

Two 9mm spent shells were re­cov­ered at the scene.
