A 26-year-old man of La Hor­quet­ta is dead and an­oth­er man, 33, wound­ed dur­ing a shoot­ing in­ci­dent on Sun­day night in La Hor­quet­ta.

The de­ceased has been iden­ti­fied as Brent Se­u­nar­i­nesingh of #625 Phase 7 La Hor­quet­ta. The wound­ed man is from #625 Phase 7 La Hor­quet­ta. Po­lice re­ports say at 11:30 pm the de­ceased and the vic­tim were sit­ting in the gallery of a house when two men ap­proached them and opened fire.

The gun­men then es­caped in a sil­ver Nis­san Ti­i­da. Both men were seen ly­ing on the road and were sub­se­quent­ly tak­en to the Ari­ma Hos­pi­tal by a neigh­bour. Se­u­nar­i­nesingh was pro­nounced dead at 12:12 am on Mon­day whilst un­der­go­ing surgery.

The vic­tim was tak­en for emer­gency surgery and was lat­er list­ed in a sta­ble but crit­i­cal con­di­tion. He was sub­se­quent­ly trans­ferred to the Er­ic Williams Med­ical Sci­ences Com­plex for fur­ther med­ical at­ten­tion. Se­u­nar­i­nesingh was shot in the right hip/thigh and but­tock cheek and the vic­tim was shot in the face.

The scene was vis­it­ed by the du­ty in­spec­tor and du­ty sergeant and al­so of­fi­cers of the Homi­cide Re­gion 2 and SERU who processed the scene where to­tal of 18 spent 5.56 shells, 22 spent 9mm shells were re­cov­ered at the scene. Cpl Ed­wards and WPC Williams of the Pin­to Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing.
