A 26-year-old man of La Horquetta is dead and another man, 33, wounded during a shooting incident on Sunday night in La Horquetta.
The deceased has been identified as Brent Seunarinesingh of #625 Phase 7 La Horquetta. The wounded man is from #625 Phase 7 La Horquetta. Police reports say at 11:30 pm the deceased and the victim were sitting in the gallery of a house when two men approached them and opened fire.
The gunmen then escaped in a silver Nissan Tiida. Both men were seen lying on the road and were subsequently taken to the Arima Hospital by a neighbour. Seunarinesingh was pronounced dead at 12:12 am on Monday whilst undergoing surgery.
The victim was taken for emergency surgery and was later listed in a stable but critical condition. He was subsequently transferred to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex for further medical attention. Seunarinesingh was shot in the right hip/thigh and buttock cheek and the victim was shot in the face.
The scene was visited by the duty inspector and duty sergeant and also officers of the Homicide Region 2 and SERU who processed the scene where total of 18 spent 5.56 shells, 22 spent 9mm shells were recovered at the scene. Cpl Edwards and WPC Williams of the Pinto Police are investigating.
