A 40-year-old man was killed in a dri­ve-by shoot­ing in Laven­tille on Sat­ur­day night.

Michael Arthur, of Up­per Pash­ley Street, was among three peo­ple shot dur­ing the in­ci­dent.

Ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port, at about 8.15 pm, Cpl Sookhoo and par­ty of of­fi­cers from the Port-of-Spain Task Force re­spond­ed to the re­port of a shoot­ing at Parsh­ley and Church Streets. On ar­rival, they saw Arthur ly­ing on the pave­ment bleed­ing from gun­shot wounds to the up­per body.

The of­fi­cers took the vic­tim to the PoS Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal, where he was pro­nounced dead on ar­rival.

Whilst at the hos­pi­tal, a 23-year-old man, al­so of Up­per Pash­ley Street, was brought in­to the hos­pi­tal suf­fer­ing from a gun­shot wound to his right leg.

A third vic­tim, a woman, 22 years, of Low­er Pash­ley Street, who was shot on the left butt cheek and right leg was al­so brought in­to the hos­pi­tal.

Po­lice said all vic­tims were among a group of per­sons lim­ing when a white ve­hi­cle pulled up and two oc­cu­pants got out and fired sev­er­al shots at them.

Vis­it­ing the scene was Ag Cpl Neaves (Besson Street CID) and CSIs Ram­char­ran and Lap­tiste. The scene was al­so vis­it­ed by Ag Sgt Har­riper­sad (homi­cide) and processed by homi­cide CSIs.
