Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the sus­pect­ed drown­ing of Solomon David, 47, of Wells Street, who was a labour­er em­ployed with the Rio Claro/ Ma­yaro Re­gion­al Cor­po­ra­tion.

Ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port, David and his neigh­bour, Michael Bharat, went in­to a forest­ed area at Biche/Or­toire Road to pick chadon beni on Sun­day.

Up­on ar­rival at the riv­er, they saw that it was swollen and de­cid­ed to re­turn home, how­ev­er, David and Bharat de­cid­ed to wash their boots that were cov­ered in mud in the riv­er when David re­port­ed­ly slipped and fell in­to the riv­er and dis­ap­peared un­der the wa­ters.

Of­fi­cers of the Biche Po­lice Sta­tion were in­formed, and Cpl La Paix and PC Lares re­spond­ed.

With the as­sis­tance of res­i­dents of the Biche com­mu­ni­ty, the body of David was re­cov­ered from the riv­er not too far away from where he went un­der.
