Man arrested in stolen vehicle, ammunition seized in Operation Blue Line

Po­lice ar­rest­ed one man, seized am­mu­ni­tion and re­cov­ered a stolen ve­hi­cle, dur­ing ex­er­cis­es on Fri­day 1st, De­cem­ber 2023, in the Port-of-Spain and North Cen­tral Di­vi­sions.

The TTPS says as part of Op­er­a­tion Blue Line ex­er­cis­es, of­fi­cers con­duct­ed a war­rant in the San­ta Cruz Dis­trict, noth­ing men­tioned in the war­rant was found, how­ev­er the of­fi­cers searched a bushy area lo­cat­ed at Per­ouse Av­enue, Mc Carthy Street, Can­taro Vil­lage, Up­per San­ta Cruz and found and seized a bag con­tain­ing three 9mm rounds of am­mu­ni­tion and thir­ty-three 5.56mm rounds of am­mu­ni­tion.

The TTPS says based on in­tel­li­gence in­for­ma­tion, of­fi­cers then pro­ceed­ed to Holo­lo Road, San­ta Cruz, where they found a ve­hi­cle that was ear­li­er re­port­ed to be in­volved in a rob­bery with ag­gra­va­tion in­ci­dent, in the dis­trict.

Fur­ther checks re­vealed that the ve­hi­cle which was re­port­ed stolen in No­vem­ber, in the Mor­vant Dis­trict, had a tam­pered ig­ni­tion.

The ve­hi­cle was wrecked and con­veyed to the San­ta Cruz Po­lice Sta­tion.

The ex­er­cise was spear­head­ed by Snr Supt Ed­wards, W/Supt George and Ag/ASP Cal­len­der, co­or­di­nat­ed by Ag/In­sp Rans­ingh, su­per­vised by No. 18586 W/Cpl George and in­clud­ed mem­bers of the San­ta Cruz Crim­i­nal In­ves­ti­ga­tions De­part­ment, San­ta Cruz Po­lice Sta­tion and North East­ern Di­vi­sion Gang and In­tel­li­gence Unit.
