Police arrested one man, seized ammunition and recovered a stolen vehicle, during exercises on Friday 1st, December 2023, in the Port-of-Spain and North Central Divisions.
The TTPS says as part of Operation Blue Line exercises, officers conducted a warrant in the Santa Cruz District, nothing mentioned in the warrant was found, however the officers searched a bushy area located at Perouse Avenue, Mc Carthy Street, Cantaro Village, Upper Santa Cruz and found and seized a bag containing three 9mm rounds of ammunition and thirty-three 5.56mm rounds of ammunition.
The TTPS says based on intelligence information, officers then proceeded to Hololo Road, Santa Cruz, where they found a vehicle that was earlier reported to be involved in a robbery with aggravation incident, in the district.
Further checks revealed that the vehicle which was reported stolen in November, in the Morvant District, had a tampered ignition.
The vehicle was wrecked and conveyed to the Santa Cruz Police Station.
The exercise was spearheaded by Snr Supt Edwards, W/Supt George and Ag/ASP Callender, coordinated by Ag/Insp Ransingh, supervised by No. 18586 W/Cpl George and included members of the Santa Cruz Criminal Investigations Department, Santa Cruz Police Station and North Eastern Division Gang and Intelligence Unit.
