A Va­len­cia cou­ple were tied up and robbed by ban­dits who stormed their home ear­ly on Sun­day morn­ing.

Po­lice said the 39-year-old man and 28-year-old woman were asleep at their Rose­wood Dri­ve home at around 2 am, when three armed ban­dits awoke them.

The cou­ple were tied up with wire as the man was pis­tol-whipped. The ban­dits stole $1,500 in cash and the keys to their white Nis­san B15 be­fore es­cap­ing in the stolen car.

The cou­ple even­tu­al­ly freed them­selves and were tak­en to hos­pi­tal by a neigh­bour.

Short­ly af­ter, of­fi­cers of the East­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force found the car aban­doned on the Va­len­cia Old Road and lat­er towed it to the Va­len­cia Po­lice Post for fur­ther analy­sis.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors said the man is in sta­ble con­di­tion and was await­ing the re­sults of a CT scan as of Mon­day.

Of­fi­cers of the Va­len­cia CID are con­tin­u­ing en­quiries.
