A 20-year-old man has been ordered to stay 300 metres away from his neighbour after he allegedly forced him into a room and raped him.
The man was granted bail in the sum of $100,000 with a surety, after he appeared before Chaguanas Magistrate Indira Misir-Gosine.
According to the police on Monday, July 1 2019, the victim saw his neighbour standing in his yard. The neighbour offered the man $100 and asked him to perform a sex act on him.
The victim refused and started to walk off when according to police the 20-year-old neighbour held onto the victim’s hand and told him he was not allowed to leave. The victim was held against his will in a locked room, where it was alleged that the sex act occurred.
A couple of days later the victim reported the incident to the Barrackpore Police Station, and officers of the Southern Division Child Protection Unit were detailed to investigate.
Ag/Cpl Diamond, later charged the 20- year old man with one count of sexual penetration and one count of false imprisonment.
The man is expected to appear before a Chaguanas Magistrate on March 29.
And in an unrelated matter, a 34-year-old man was ordered to have no contact with his stepson after appearing before a Chaguanas Magistrate yesterday charged with one count of cruelty to a child.
The accused who resides in Edinburgh 500, Chaguanas, appeared before Magistrate Adrian Darmanie and was granted $150,000 bail.
According to the 16-year-old boy, he was physically assaulted by his stepfather on several occasions.
Police said in May 2019, the boy made a report to police and officers of the Central Division Child Protection Unit (CPU) initiated an investigation which led to the arrest of the suspect on Tuesday.
