A 33-year-old man has been charged in the shoot­ing death of Lu­ka Gor­ing on Feb­ru­ary 16th in a KFC out­let in Mara­bel­la.

Mark “West” Nel­son ap­peared in court on Mon­day charged with the mur­der.

Nel­son was ap­par­ent­ly a se­r­i­al of­fend­er as he was al­so charged with a sec­ond mur­der. The sec­ond vic­tim was iden­ti­fied as 36-year-old Lyn­don Mar­cus who was shot on No­vem­ber 5, 2023 and died a few days lat­er at hos­pi­tal.

The Feb­ru­ary 16 mur­der was caught on CCTV footage and cell phone footage. It be­gan with an al­ter­ca­tion, where the vic­tim, Gor­ing , stabbed Nel­son sev­er­al times be­fore be­ing shot dead at the scene.

Nel­son es­caped but was ar­rest­ed on Feb­ru­ary 25.
