The hus­band of mur­der vic­tim, Sub­ri­na Thomas, was grant­ed bail in the sum of $300,000 with sure­ty, when he ap­peared be­fore a Point Fortin Mag­is­trate on Fri­day, charged with con­spir­a­cy to com­mit mur­der.

Ed­win Thomas, 54, of Aripero, was grant­ed bail and al­so or­dered to sur­ren­der his pass­port and re­port twice a week to the Point Fortin Po­lice Sta­tion.

The mat­ter was ad­journed to June 14.

Re­ports are that Sub­ri­na Thomas was vis­it­ing a rel­a­tive in the Point Fortin dis­trict on Feb­ru­ary 13, when she was shot and killed by a lone gun­man.

Akim Lon­don, of Point Fortin, sub­se­quent­ly was charged (on March 23), in con­nec­tion with her mur­der.

Fur­ther in­ves­ti­ga­tions in­to the mat­ter re­vealed that the ac­cused al­leged­ly so­licit­ed the ser­vices of an undis­closed per­son some­time dur­ing the pe­ri­od De­cem­ber 2022 to Jan­u­ary 2023.

The ac­cused was ar­rest­ed on May 16 in con­nec­tion with the in­ves­ti­ga­tion in­to his wife’s death.

Ed­win Thomas was charged last week Thurs­day, fol­low­ing ad­vice re­ceived from Deputy Di­rec­tor of Pub­lic Pros­e­cu­tions, Joan Hon­ore-Paul.
