A 37-year-old man is in stable but critical condition after a chopping in Champs Fleurs on Saturday night.
Police said the man was standing outside the One Stop Convenience Store at the corner of the Eastern Main Road and Mt D'Or Road, around 9 pm when he got into an argument with a stranger.
The stranger pulled out a cutlass and chopped the man twice on his head, his right foot, right hand and lower back before running away.
Passersby took the bleeding man to the hospital where he was still being examined by doctors as of Sunday morning.
Investigators said doctors were awaiting the results of a CT scan to determine the extent of damage.
Police from the St Joseph CID are continuing enquiries.
