A 28-year-old man has died just un­der 24-hours af­ter a shoot­ing in­ci­dent in Orop­une Gar­dens in Pi­ar­co.

Ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port, at about 9:02 pm on Mon­day, Anand Ra­jku­mar was lim­ing with an­oth­er friend at a house along Third Street, when they were ap­proached by a man who opened fire on them. The gun­man then ran off.

Both Ra­jku­mar and his 20-year-old friend were shot sev­er­al times.  Ra­jku­mar was shot to the chest and right shoul­der, while the oth­er vic­tim was shot to the low­er ab­domen.

Both men were tak­en to the Er­ic Williams Med­ical Sci­ences Com­plex. How­ev­er, Ra­jku­mar suc­cumbed to his in­juries at about 8.30 pm on Tues­day.

Po­lice cur­rent­ly are search­ing for the sus­pect.

No mo­tive has been es­tab­lished for the shoot­ing and in­ves­ti­ga­tions are on­go­ing.
