Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the mur­der of a 38-year-old man who was shot dead in the carpark of Hang­over Restau­rant and Bar on Pe­nal Rock Road ear­ly Tues­day morn­ing.

A re­port stat­ed that Khe­don Kyle Bel­montes was found ly­ing par­tial­ly in a con­crete drain on the north­ern side of the com­pound with mul­ti­ple gun­shot wounds.

Pa­trons re­port­ed hear­ing sev­er­al ex­plo­sions around 11.54 pm on Mon­day. Po­lice re­spond­ed short­ly af­ter mid­night and found Bel­montes’ body at the scene.

Crime Scene In­ves­ti­ga­tors re­cov­ered 21 spent 5.56 shell cas­ings, five live 9mm rounds, and one pro­jec­tile.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors were told that Bel­montes, who lived in Pe­nal, had been seen mo­ments ear­li­er eat­ing a meal of KFC on the com­pound.

The Homi­cide Bu­reau of In­ves­ti­ga­tions, Re­gion Three, is con­tin­u­ing en­quiries. No sus­pect has been iden­ti­fied, and a mo­tive has not yet been es­tab­lished.
