What start­ed as a re­lax­ing evening on a beach in La Brea quick­ly turned in­to a night­mare for a man and his friend af­ter they were robbed.

Po­lice said the vic­tims, a 33-year-old ware­house at­ten­dant and his friend, a 28-year-old Mara­bel­la woman, were hang­ing out near the shore­line at Ves­signy Beach on Wednes­day when two men ap­proached them.

The un­armed as­sailants or­dered the vic­tims to keep their heads down. They robbed the man of a Google Pix­el phone, $40, his ATM card, car keys, and a $35,000 blue Nis­san Almera, which was parked in the carpark. The woman was robbed of a black Ap­ple iPhone.

Af­ter the in­ci­dent, the vic­tims went to the La Brea Po­lice Sta­tion and made a re­port. PC Per­reira and PC Small vis­it­ed the scene and con­duct­ed an in­ves­ti­ga­tion.
