Kurt Cu­pid, al­so known as Kurt David Smith, 51, a man de­scribed by po­lice as a per­son of in­ter­est in sev­er­al high-pro­file crim­i­nal in­ves­ti­ga­tions, in­clud­ing mil­lion-dol­lar rob­beries, was killed in Long­denville, Ch­agua­nas, on Thurs­day night.

Po­lice said Cu­pid, pop­u­lar­ly called KC, was fa­tal­ly shot sev­er­al times while at­tempt­ing to park in the dri­ve­way of his girl­friend’s home at Tom Tom Street, Long­denville.

Po­lice said at about 7 pm, Cu­pid vis­it­ed his girl­friend’s home, where he asked to bor­row her black Kia Cer­a­to car to meet some­one at the Brent­wood, Ch­agua­nas branch of Chuck E Cheese. Smith re­turned to the home at about 7.35 pm and was shot dead while try­ing to park the ve­hi­cle.

The girl­friend told po­lice af­ter hear­ing gun­shots she checked out­side and saw Cu­pid bleed­ing and called for help from a rel­a­tive, who took him to the Ch­agua­nas Health Fa­cil­i­ty. How­ev­er, he was de­clared dead at about 8.42 pm.

Cu­pid was orig­i­nal­ly from Mar­aval and was charged with a $1.5 mil­lion rob­bery of Price Smart in 2016. (RDR)
