A Mor­vant man who had moved out of the area and re­turned to vis­it peo­ple on Thurs­day night was shot sev­er­al times.

Jameel Gay, who orig­i­nal­ly lived at Mat­a­pal Street, Mor­vant – lat­er died at hos­pi­tal.

He was shot around 10.40 pm on May 25.

Re­ports in­di­cate the de­ceased had just ar­rived at his for­mer ad­dress and was stand­ing on the road in front of the house when a car stopped and the oc­cu­pants opened fire on him.

As Gay col­lapsed bleed­ing from gun­shot wounds about the body, the car sped off.

Res­i­dents who came to Gay’s aid con­tact­ed the po­lice who took the in­jured man to hos­pi­tal, where he was de­clared dead at 10.58 pm.

A to­tal of sev­en spent 9 mm shell cas­ings were found at the scene.

The death has been list­ed as gang-re­lat­ed.
