A Morvant man who had moved out of the area and returned to visit people on Thursday night was shot several times.
Jameel Gay, who originally lived at Matapal Street, Morvant – later died at hospital.
He was shot around 10.40 pm on May 25.
Reports indicate the deceased had just arrived at his former address and was standing on the road in front of the house when a car stopped and the occupants opened fire on him.
As Gay collapsed bleeding from gunshot wounds about the body, the car sped off.
Residents who came to Gay’s aid contacted the police who took the injured man to hospital, where he was declared dead at 10.58 pm.
A total of seven spent 9 mm shell casings were found at the scene.
The death has been listed as gang-related.
