A 30-year-old man is clinging to life after he was shot several times while walking in Tunapuna on Thursday night.
Police said the man was walking on Tunapuna Road near St John's Street, at around 7 pm, when he was confronted by two gunmen who shot him several times in his head, stomach and leg before running away.
Residents heard the gunshots and called the police.
Officers of the North Central Division Task Force were called in and took the bleeding man to hospital where he remained in critical and unstable condition.
Crime scene investigators visited the scene and found 11 spent shells.
Officers of the Tunapuna CID are continuing enquiries.
