Bereaved relatives of a 34-year-old man who was stabbed to death in a bar in San Fernando on Thursday night, say he had “talks” but he was no troublemaker.
Jason “Hakka” Stoute, of Duncan Village, was stabbed at least three times and died along Mucurapo Street after being attacked by a man he was arguing with.
Stoute was liming at Edge Bar, at the corner of Keate and Mucurapo Streets, San Fernando, when he got into an argument with the suspect. They then left the bar and continued arguing, during which time the man stabbed him.
In a brief interview yesterday, relatives said Stoute lived alone and was the father of a six-year-old child. They said Stoute was shot in April near Duncan Village but they were unaware of the circumstances surrounding that incident. However, they said he was not living in fear and they were not worried about his safety.
“He used to drink and give people talks. But he did not give trouble. He had his ways but he was a good guy,” the relative said.
Investigators said the suspect was still at large.
This was the second stabbing at the bar in San Fernando in two days. On Wednesday Denzil Brewster, 33, of Princes Town, was stabbed to death following an argument at Little Las Vegas Bar in San Fernando around 8.30 pm on Wednesday. An off-duty policeman was also injured.
Officers of the Homicide Region Three are investigating.
