The shooting incident occurred in the wee hours of Tuesday morning

A man iden­ti­fied on­ly by his alias was found dead in Arou­ca on Tues­day morn­ing.

The man’s body bore sev­er­al gun­shot wounds to the head.

Ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port, at about 1.30 am, res­i­dents at Yorke Street, Arou­ca, heard voic­es quar­relling on the road­way over a cig­a­rette, and then heard sev­er­al gun­shots.

Of­fi­cers ar­rived on the scene and found the body of a male of dark brown com­plex­ion, slim built, de­scribed as a "Dougla", with a short hair­cut and clad in a pur­ple long sleeve hood­ie and a pair of black three-quar­ter pants. The man re­port­ed­ly wore a black stock­ing-cap on his head.

Sev­er­al nine mil­lime­tre spent shells were re­cov­ered on the scene.

Po­lice said the de­ceased was iden­ti­fied on­ly as "Marshy" and is be­lieved to be in his mid-30s.

Po­lice said he is known to be a car­pen­ter and he resided in the area.

The re­al name of the de­ceased is not yet known and in­ves­ti­ga­tors are call­ing on rel­a­tives to come for­ward.
