A 35-year-old man from Trinidad who re­sides in To­ba­go has been charged with one count of in­de­cent as­sault of a 16-year-old teen. He was re­mand­ed in­to cus­tody and is ex­pect­ed to be sen­tenced to­day. 

The sus­pects ap­peared vir­tu­al­ly be­fore a Scar­bor­ough Mag­is­trate’s Court where he plead­ed guilty to the of­fence. 

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice re­ports around 9 am on June 28th the vic­tim was at the home of her neigh­bour and while there a man whom she knows passed and squeezed her but­tocks. 

The Spe­cial Vic­tims De­part­ment (SVD) con­duct­ed an in­ves­ti­ga­tion and the 35-year-old man was ar­rest­ed on June 29th, 2022, by PC Thomas of the SVD. The in­ves­ti­ga­tion was spear­head­ed by W/Supt Guy-Al­leyne, W/ASP Theodore-Per­sad and In­sp. (Ag.) Miller.
