Gun-tot­ing rob­bers in­ter­cept­ed a ve­hi­cle along a lone­ly teak road in Bar­rack­pore and robbed the dri­ver of his ve­hi­cle, cash and valu­ables.

The vic­tim Im­ran Ali told po­lice he had no chance of es­cap­ing as the rob­bers board­ed his van at gun­point.

He told po­lice around 12:15 pm on Sun­day he was dri­ving his white Kia van reg­is­tered TCF-2694, east along the Rochard Dou­glas Road when up­on reach­ing the vicin­i­ty of the teak he was blocked by a gold Maz­da BT-50 reg­is­tra­tion num­ber un­known.

The rob­bers wore dark cloth­ing and ski masks over their faces. One of them pushed the gun at Ali's head and then board­ed the ve­hi­cle.

They took Ali to Saun­ders Trace St Mary's Vil­lage Moru­ga Road where they robbed him of a black Sam­sung AO1 Core cell­phone val­ued at $600 and $900 in cash. They then left Ali in a bushy area and es­caped with his van val­ued at $ 56,000.

Ali man­aged to call for help and made his way to the Bar­rack­pore Po­lice Sta­tion where he made a re­port. The ve­hi­cle has not yet been re­cov­ered.
