Sascha Wilson
A 38-year-old man was shot and chopped during an altercation in Erin.
Police said floorman Abraham Lazarus was attacked on Friday but only reported the incident on Monday.
He told officers that around 11:30 pm on Friday, he was liming at Lisa’s Bar at Los Iros Junction in Erin when he went to use the urinal.
As he exited, two men he knew approached him. One held him in a bear hug and shot him in his left knee. That suspect then passed the firearm to the other man, who fired at Lazarus but missed.
The assailant then drew a cutlass from his waist and chopped Lazarus on the head. Bleeding from his wounds, he ran to a friend’s home, and the friend took him to the Point Fortin Hospital.
He was treated and discharged the following day.
Erin police are investigating.
