A 38-year-old man was shot and chopped dur­ing an al­ter­ca­tion in Erin.

Po­lice said floor­man Abra­ham Lazarus was at­tacked on Fri­day but on­ly re­port­ed the in­ci­dent on Mon­day.

He told of­fi­cers that around 11:30 pm on Fri­day, he was lim­ing at Lisa’s Bar at Los Iros Junc­tion in Erin when he went to use the uri­nal.

As he ex­it­ed, two men he knew ap­proached him. One held him in a bear hug and shot him in his left knee. That sus­pect then passed the firearm to the oth­er man, who fired at Lazarus but missed.

The as­sailant then drew a cut­lass from his waist and chopped Lazarus on the head. Bleed­ing from his wounds, he ran to a friend’s home, and the friend took him to the Point Fortin Hos­pi­tal.

He was treat­ed and dis­charged the fol­low­ing day.
