Yet an­oth­er per­son has lost their life in a hail of gun­fire in St Au­gus­tine. Dead is Ryan Ram­per­sad, aka Dog­man, of Sen­a­trie Street, Pasea Road, Ex­ten­sion, Tu­na­puna.

Around 10.20 am yes­ter­day, po­lice re­spond­ed to a re­port of a shoot­ing at the cor­ner of Free­man and Or­ange Grove roads, St Au­gus­tine.

Up­on ar­rival, they found Ram­per­sad, 39, ly­ing mo­tion­less on his left side on the road with mul­ti­ple gun­shot wounds on the body.

Po­lice were told that Ram­per­sad was lim­ing when a ve­hi­cle pulled up and a man alight­ed with a gun and be­gan fir­ing in his di­rec­tion, killing Ram­per­sad on the spot.

In­dar Sankar, 44, of Ma­haloo Trace, St Au­gus­tine, who was near­by, al­so sus­tained a bul­let wound to his leg.

Po­lice re­cov­ered sev­er­al 9 mm cas­ings.

Ram­per­sad’s killing was one of eight mur­ders in the com­mu­ni­ty over the last few months.

Among those who were gunned down in the area were Aneesa Mo­hammed, Dar­shan Ram­nauth, Geno Singh, and Daniel Ri­ley.
