A 42-year-old man es­caped a shoot­ing with mi­nor cuts as he drove through San Juan on Tues­day night.

Po­lice said the man was dri­ving through Hillview Dri­ve, Laven­tille Road around 7.30 pm when he no­ticed a blue coloured Nis­san Almera parked at the side of the road.

He then no­ticed that two gun­men com­ing out of the car and open­ing fire on him, dam­ag­ing the front and rear wind­screens, the left rear win­dow and the fu­el tank.

The man re­ceived sev­er­al cuts from bro­ken glass on both legs as he sped off to the San Juan Po­lice Sta­tion.

Po­lice took the man to the Er­ic Williams Med­ical Sci­ences Com­plex but he re­fused treat­ment.

Of­fi­cers of the North East­ern Di­vi­sion CID and the crime scene in­ves­ti­ga­tion unit al­so vis­it­ed the scene and found three spent 5.56 mm shells.

San Juan po­lice are con­tin­u­ing en­quiries.
