Investigations are ongoing into an accident in Princes Town on Sunday in which a man was killed and five other people, including three children, were injured.
Police said Arnel Young, 37, a tradesman of Teesdale Road Junction, Mandingo, Moruga, died in the crash.
Officers said around 11.30 am, a 36-year-old clerk was driving along Indian Walk Road in her Hyundai Elantra with four passengers, including a 44-year-old man, and three children—ages 13, six and two years old.
She told police that when she got near Chanda Trace, she saw a white Nissan Navara driven by Young, swerving as it headed towards her.
Although she stopped, she said, the Navara slammed into the front of her vehicle at a fast speed, causing her vehicle to spin and crash into a concrete drain.
Young died at the scene while the occupants of the other vehicle were taken to the San Fernando General Hospital for treatment.
When Guardian Media visited Young’s home yesterday, relatives declined comment. Investigations are continuing.
