A Massy Energy Engineered Solutions Ltd (MEES) worker, assigned to NiQuan Energy Trinidad's Pointe-a-Pierre plant, was injured in an incident at the facility on Thursday.
In a news release last night, Niquan said the individual is in stable condition and receiving medical attention. It did not give details of the extent of the injury or what led to the worker suffering the injury.
The company said its board members, executive team and all at NiQuan Energy deeply regret the occurrence of the incident and sent their best wishes to the injured worker and his family for the fullest and speediest recovery.
Niquan said the health and safety of its employees, contractors and community remain its priority.
The company said it is cooperating with MEES to investigate the incident and report to the relevant agencies.
This is the incident the Gas-to-Liquids plant has suffered since it started production in 2021.
On April 7, 2021, the plant suffered an equipment failure during the start-up of the hydrocracker system, which caused an explosion that was heard miles away.
