Matelot residents say they have now resorted to fixing their own roads.
The residents say they have been complaining to the authorities for years but it seems their pleas have fallen on deaf ears.
So the villagers say they are now sourcing materials and are doing their own road works.
John Lewis spokesperson for the villagers said "Matelot is a forgotten village and villagers have decided to fix the road for themselves with the little resources they have. We live here so we have to provide some safety for ourselves and children as the roadway is very risky when traversing."
He said the roadway is eroding daily and soon vehicles would not be able to pass.
Lewis said the PTSC (Public Transport Service Corporation) service has also stopped because of the road conditions.
