The Ministry of Culture and Community Development (MCCD) has confirmed a special performance for contestants affected by the smoke bomb incident at the La Reine Rive Self-Expression and Talent Finals of the Prime Minister’s Best Village Trophy Competition last Saturday, September 6, 2025, at SAPA.
Five contestants who were unable to perform will take the stage tomorrow, Saturday, September 13, at the National Academy for the Performing Arts (NAPA), from 7:30 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public.
Meanwhile, the Le Gran Z’Affaire Finals have been postponed to a date to be announced, ensuring the integrity of the competition is maintained. Investigations into the incident continue, with consultations involving adjudicators to ensure transparency, accountability, and fairness.
Minister Michelle Benjamin said: “The show must go on. The Best Village Competition reflects the resilience, creativity and spirit of our people. We encourage citizens to support these contestants as they continue to shine on behalf of Trinidad and Tobago.”
