A 48-year-old Erin mechanic was crushed to death on Sunday while repairing his wife’s car.
Police said Evans Joshua, of Buenos Ayres, Cap-de-Ville Road, was working on his wife’s Toyota Picnic at about 4.05 pm. The car was parked on an incline in the yard when it rolled and pinned him to the ground.
His wife called out to neighbours for help. They came to his assistance and removed him from beneath the vehicle. He was taken by ambulance to the Siparia District Health Facility, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Officers from the Erin Police Station are investigating.
