Mendes returns unopposed as Latt president

Se­nior Coun­sel Dou­glas Mendes has been re-elect­ed un­op­posed as the pres­i­dent of the Law As­so­ci­a­tion of T&T (Latt).

Mendes was re­turned as the head of Latt fol­low­ing the as­so­ci­a­tion's an­nu­al meet­ing held on Fri­day.

On March 15 LATT an­nounced that Se­nior Coun­sel Ramesh Lawrence Ma­haraj had with­drawn his can­di­da­cy for the post of pres­i­dent of the as­so­ci­a­tion.

Last year Mendes re­placed Se­nior Coun­sel Regi­nald Ar­mour as Latt's pres­i­dent.

There­sa Hadad was al­so re-elect­ed un­op­posed at Latt's trea­sur­er.

Ra­jiv Per­sad was al­so re-elect­ed as the as­so­ci­a­tion's pres­i­dent fol­low­ing a chal­lenge by Pa­tri­cia Dindyal.

The Latt's ten se­nior or­di­nary mem­bers are Se­nior Coun­sel El­ton Prescott, Dar­rell Al­la­har, Ele­na Arau­jo, Ron­nie Bisses­sar, Fred­er­ick Gilkes, Ja­son Nathu, Reeyah Chat­ter­goon,Di­nesh Ram­bal­ly, Lynette See­baran-Suite and Richard Sir­joo.

While the five ju­nior or­di­nary mem­bers are Shankar Bidaisee, Trevor Clarke, Kim­ber­leigh Pe­ter­son, Maris­sa Ram­soon­dar and Ele­na De Sil­va.
