The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service says forecast rainfall this morning, combined with accumulations over the past several hours, significantly increase the risk of localised flooding and landslides.

In an early morning Adverse Weather Alert/Yellow Level, the Met Service said additionally, moderate to strong winds in the lower atmosphere may cause gusts near 55 kph in the vicinity of heavy downpours, which can lead to falling debris or displaced roofs and agitated seas.

It urged members of the public to avoid venturing into flood waters and to secure loose outdoor objects.

Mariners should exercise added caution.

“Monitor official updates from metoffice.gov.tt and odpm.gov.tt,” the Met Service advised.
