The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service is closely monitoring a low-pressure system located approximately 1,610 kilometres east-southeast of the Lesser Antilles.

In an update issued at 8:00 am today, the system was described as an area of disorganised showers and thunderstorms.

Forecasters say there is a low chance, around 10 percent, of development within the next two to seven days, as environmental conditions are expected to become unfavourable for further intensification.

There are currently no watches or warnings in effect for Trinidad, Tobago, Grenada or their dependencies.

The Met Service will continue to monitor the disturbance and will provide updates if conditions change.
