Moruga/Tableland MP Michelle Benjamin is mourning the death of her uncle, Marvin Hamilton, who was murdered in what she described as a “senseless act of violence”.
In a Facebook post titled “Gone to Soon,” the Minister of Culture and Community Development said she received the tragic news early yesterday morning and was still struggling to understand the loss late into the night.
“Got the call since 7 a.m., and even now, at 10:00 p.m., I’m still asking myself why. Why was my uncle murdered? Why does another family have to endure this kind of pain?” she wrote.
Benjamin said Hamilton, whom she described as her father’s younger brother, was “a father, a son, a friend, my uncle”, whose death had left their family broken and the community shaken.
“No one deserves to die this way,” she added.
