Min­is­ter with the re­spon­si­bil­i­ty of Gen­der and Child Af­fairs Ayan­na Web­ster-Roy has sent a re­quest to the po­lice ask­ing them to look in­to two videos in­volv­ing mi­nors that are cir­cu­lat­ing on so­cial me­dia.

The first video shows two young boys record­ing them­selves en­gag­ing in sex­u­al ac­tiv­i­ty and the oth­er is of a tik­tok­er al­leg­ing that a mi­nor was in­volved in in­ap­pro­pri­ate ac­tiv­i­ty with adult men. Some who viewed the video told the tik­tok­er in the com­ments that the mat­ter should be re­port­ed to the po­lice.

The min­is­ter said she had not seen the videos.

Speak­ing at the han­dover of the Braille ver­sion of the Na­tion­al Strate­gic Ac­tion Plan at the Par­lia­men­tary Com­plex, St Vin­cent Street, Port-of-Spain yes­ter­day, Web­ster Roy plead­ed with those who did not con­sid­er it their le­gal re­spon­si­bil­i­ty to re­port abuse to con­sid­er the mi­nor’s fu­ture and asked for them to con­sid­er it as their moral and spir­i­tu­al du­ty to do the right thing.

She said if the in­for­ma­tion did not come to the min­is­ter, the po­lice, or the Chil­dren’s Au­thor­i­ty then they could not act.
