As 2023 draws to a close and the new academic term set to begin on January 2 – the Ministry of Education (MOE) is assuring parents and guardians that there will be no issues regarding the transport of students.
School bus drivers operating under the Public Transport Service Corporation (PTSC) had been lobbying for unpaid monies and had threatened to withhold their service until all outstanding sums were settled.
The drivers claimed not to have been paid for the past four months.
Responding today, Education Minister Dr Nyan Gadsby-Dolly explained, “Payments are processed through PTSC as invoices are received.”
“It is not a monthly bill. One bulk payment was made for the term, and another is being sent to PTSC today.”
