As 2023 draws to a close and the new aca­d­e­m­ic term set to be­gin on Jan­u­ary 2 – the Min­istry of Ed­u­ca­tion (MOE) is as­sur­ing par­ents and guardians that there will be no is­sues re­gard­ing the trans­port of stu­dents.

School bus dri­vers op­er­at­ing un­der the Pub­lic Trans­port Ser­vice Cor­po­ra­tion (PTSC) had been lob­by­ing for un­paid monies and had threat­ened to with­hold their ser­vice un­til all out­stand­ing sums were set­tled.

The dri­vers claimed not to have been paid for the past four months.

Re­spond­ing to­day, Ed­u­ca­tion Min­is­ter Dr Nyan Gads­by-Dol­ly ex­plained, “Pay­ments are processed through PTSC as in­voic­es are re­ceived.”

“It is not a month­ly bill. One bulk pay­ment was made for the term, and an­oth­er is be­ing sent to PTSC to­day.”
