This year’s Miss Cen­tral Trinidad Queen Pageant, the mar­quee event on the Cou­va Car­ni­val Com­mit­tee (CCC) cal­en­dar for 2026, promis­es to be the most mem­o­rable in its his­to­ry.

Mar­cia Mer­rick-Mo­hamed, co­or­di­na­tor of the pageant, made the an­nounce­ment fol­low­ing the “sash­ing” cer­e­mo­ny of the con­tes­tants at the Cou­va/Pt Lisas Cham­ber of Com­merce on Fri­day.

“The pageant promis­es to be the best ever in its his­to­ry. For the first time, we are in­tro­duc­ing a tal­ent seg­ment to show­case our girls’ artis­tic ver­sa­til­i­ty. There is al­so the usu­al fash­ion plat­form and oth­er in­trigu­ing el­e­ments that will of­fer an un­for­get­table ex­pe­ri­ence for pa­trons. In ad­di­tion, since the pageant falls on Valen­tine’s Day, there will be some sur­pris­es,” Mer­rick-Mo­hamed said.

She added that the six con­tes­tants vy­ing for the crown present a strong com­bi­na­tion of beau­ty and brains. They are:

• Sh­ernisha Fran­cis (Sinanan Dass & As­so­ciates), UWI grad­u­ate

• Joan­na Mor­gan (C1 Bar/Chait’s Bar & Grill), re­tail in­dus­try em­ploy­ee

• Damisha Dy­er (Vir­go Con­sul­tants), ac­count­ing stu­dent

• Shiv­an­na Sinanan (La­dy Gay Rest. & Bar), mod­el

• Is­hana Edgar (Full Bar­rel Sports Bar), sec­ond-year BSc. nurs­ing stu­dent

• Clevette Mat­ter­son (Club Cas­sa­va), busi­ness man­age­ment stu­dent, Uni­ver­si­ty of the South­ern Caribbean
