This year’s Miss Central Trinidad Queen Pageant, the marquee event on the Couva Carnival Committee (CCC) calendar for 2026, promises to be the most memorable in its history.
Marcia Merrick-Mohamed, coordinator of the pageant, made the announcement following the “sashing” ceremony of the contestants at the Couva/Pt Lisas Chamber of Commerce on Friday.
“The pageant promises to be the best ever in its history. For the first time, we are introducing a talent segment to showcase our girls’ artistic versatility. There is also the usual fashion platform and other intriguing elements that will offer an unforgettable experience for patrons. In addition, since the pageant falls on Valentine’s Day, there will be some surprises,” Merrick-Mohamed said.
She added that the six contestants vying for the crown present a strong combination of beauty and brains. They are:
• Shernisha Francis (Sinanan Dass & Associates), UWI graduate
• Joanna Morgan (C1 Bar/Chait’s Bar & Grill), retail industry employee
• Damisha Dyer (Virgo Consultants), accounting student
• Shivanna Sinanan (Lady Gay Rest. & Bar), model
• Ishana Edgar (Full Barrel Sports Bar), second-year BSc. nursing student
• Clevette Matterson (Club Cassava), business management student, University of the Southern Caribbean
