Miss Grand T&T rep­re­sen­ta­tive Re­bekah His­lop rep­re­sent­ed well but didn't make it all the way in the Miss Grand In­ter­na­tion­al com­pe­ti­tion that was held on Wednes­day.

Miss Pe­ru, Lu­ciana Fuster was crowned Miss Grand In­ter­na­tion­al 2023.

The first run­ner up went to Miss Myan­mar and 2nd run­ner up Miss Colom­bia.

The com­pe­ti­tion was held in Viet­nam.

On Tues­day, His­lop post­ed on her Face­book page that she was "tru­ly grate­ful to progress to Round 2 in the Na­tion­al Cos­tume Com­pe­ti­tion" how­ev­er she failed to se­cure a win be­cause of lack of votes.

His­lop in­di­cat­ed that she was "ex­treme­ly thank­ful for all the out­pour­ing sup­port. Again, I would ap­pre­ci­ate your sup­port in this round of vot­ing as each vote counts!"

Mean­while, at 11:46 am T&T lo­cal time, Milei­dy Mat­er­a­no who was orig­i­nal­ly crowned Miss Grand T&T went live on her In­sta­gram page to show that she was look­ing on at the com­pe­ti­tion which streamed live.

Mat­er­a­no al­so showed her full sup­port to Miss Colom­bia and was open­ly vy­ing for her to be crowned.

How­ev­er when the an­nounce­ment was made of Miss Colom­bia com­ing in as 2nd run­ner up, Mat­er­a­no was heard say­ing "Ay dios mío" which trans­lat­ed in Eng­lish "Oh my God."

She, how­ev­er, con­grat­u­lat­ed Miss Pe­ru on her be­ing crowned and ex­pressed over­whelm­ing joy.

Ques­tions sent to Stolen Pro­duc­tions Lim­it­ed's head of mar­ket­ing and pub­lic re­la­tions Ker­ry Gob­erd­han went unan­swered up to press time on Wednes­day.

Six days pri­or to His­lop leav­ing for Viet­nam on Oc­to­ber 4, Mat­er­a­no an­nounced that she was step­ping down as crowned win­ner be­cause of al­leged spon­sor­ship is­sues.
