Miss World Trinidad and To­ba­go An­na-Lise Nan­ton has won the Amer­i­c­as & Caribbean cat­e­go­ry of the Miss World 2025 Head-to-Head (H2H) Chal­lenge Fi­nale, a de­bate com­pe­ti­tion which took place in Hy­der­abad, In­dia, this morn­ing.

This win has se­cured Nan­ton a top-ten spot in the Amer­i­c­as and Caribbean group of the 2025 Miss World com­pe­ti­tion.

The 26-year-old en­gi­neer from San­ta Cruz is the on­ly del­e­gate from the re­gion to place in the fi­nals of every ma­jor cat­e­go­ry so far—Sports, Tal­ent, and the Head-to-Head Chal­lenge—as the world’s longest-run­ning beau­ty pageant re­turns to In­dia this month.

“It hon­est­ly feels sur­re­al. I am so ho­n­oured and full of grat­i­tude,” Nan­ton said.

“I am just a small girl from a small town, from lit­tle is­lands that are bare­ly a dot on the map. But now the world sees us, hears our voice, knows our heart. This is all I could have hoped for.”

A for­mer Na­tion­al Open Schol­ar and first-class ho­n­ours civ­il en­gi­neer­ing grad­u­ate from the Uni­ver­si­ty of Bath, Nan­ton is al­so a for­mer St Joseph’s Con­vent (PoS) stu­dent, a foot­baller for Queen’s Park, and an avid hik­er. Her pageant ad­vo­ca­cy, built around sport sus­tain­abil­i­ty, ex­plores how phys­i­cal ac­tiv­i­ty can fos­ter so­cial in­clu­sion and en­vi­ron­men­tal stew­ard­ship.

“Sport al­so taught me how to take care of my health,” she said dur­ing the Head-to-Head Chal­lenge. “It deep­ened my ap­pre­ci­a­tion for the en­vi­ron­ment and the im­por­tance of clean air and pro­tect­ing the nat­ur­al world which sus­tains us.”

Nan­ton’s project ranked among the top five in the glob­al “Beau­ty with a Pur­pose” seg­ment.

Miss World T&T Di­rec­tor Charu Lochan Dass praised her dis­ci­pline and de­ter­mi­na­tion.

“This is no small feat,” she said. “The world has seen her beau­ty, her tal­ent, her lev­el of fit­ness and now her voice... She has ig­nit­ed a sense of pride across our twin-is­land na­tion and shown the world the bril­liance of a Trin­bag­on­ian woman.”

Nan­ton emerged from a field of 18 lo­cal fi­nal­ists ear­li­er this year, win­ning the Fit­ness, Tal­ent, Head-to-Head and Peo­ple’s Choice cat­e­gories.

The 72nd edi­tion of Miss World runs from May 7–31, with events tak­ing place across the In­di­an state of Telan­gana.
