A mur­der sus­pect failed to ap­pear in the San­gre Grande Mag­is­trate Court yes­ter­day as sched­uled be­cause of the in­for­ma­tion re­lat­ing to his case was not sub­mit­ted to the court.

Tar­ran Nan­nan, a 60-year-old handy­man and PH dri­ver, was sched­uled to ap­pear on charges of mur­der­ing his sis­ter-in-law Sav­it­ri Nar­ine, 44, and wound­ing three oth­er peo­ple, in­clud­ing Nar­ine’s 18-year-old daugh­ter Nir­rmala, dur­ing a shoot­ing in­ci­dent at a Plum Road, Man­zanil­la bar on De­cem­ber 9.

This means the mur­der sus­pect will have to re­main an­oth­er night in po­lice cus­tody pend­ing his court ap­pear­ance to­day. Fam­i­ly mem­bers of the sus­pect, who gath­ered at the court, were up­set and dis­turbed and com­plained to their at­tor­neys Shiv­anand Dubay and Jer­ry Hold­er. They said Nan­nan had been ar­rest­ed eight days ago and he had been served with copies of the charges laid against him.
