Ad­di­tion­al park­ing mea­sures have been im­ple­ment­ed in Port-of-Spain over the next two days to cater to the in­flux of peo­ple flood­ing the cap­i­tal dur­ing the hec­tic Car­ni­val pe­ri­od.

Park on Car­ni­val Mon­day from 1 am to 11 pm and on Car­ni­val Tues­day from 5 am to 11 pm.

A fee of $50 per day or any part there­fore will ap­ply.

Com­mis­sion­er of Po­lice Gary Grif­fith has al­so ap­proved the use of the Hock­ey Field, South Grounds, at the Po­lice Train­ing Acad­e­my, West­ern Main Road, St James, for park­ing on Car­ni­val Mon­day be­tween 8 am and 8 pm, and on Car­ni­val Tues­day, be­tween 6 am and 8 pm. A fee of $50 per day or any part there­of will ap­ply and all pro­ceeds will go to­wards the T&T Po­lice Ser­vice’s Sports Club, a state­ment said.

It added that the move was aimed at eas­ing the traf­fic con­ges­tion on the streets around the city.

Mo­torists are al­so urged to fol­low the pub­lished park­ing and traf­fic re­stric­tions for

the Port-of-Spain dis­trict on Car­ni­val Mon­day and Tues­day or risk hav­ing their

ve­hi­cles wrecked and im­pound­ed.
