The 22-year-old man from Mor­vant who was shot out­side a school on Thurs­day has died.

Po­lice said Leon Mark of Alex­is Street died on Fri­day night at the Er­ic Williams Med­ical Sci­ences Com­plex in Mount Hope.

Al­though the ini­tial gun­shot in­jury was to the arm and was not life-threat­en­ing, po­lice said they were told by med­ical per­son­nel that Mark lat­er de­vel­oped med­ical com­pli­ca­tions as a re­sult of the in­jury which he suc­cumbed to.

Mark was shot in the arm while out­side the Hokett Bap­tist Pri­ma­ry School in Mor­vant on Thurs­day.

Of­fi­cers of the North East­ern Di­vi­sion's Crime Scene Unit processed the scene in Mor­vant and re­cov­ered eight 5.56 and two 9 mm shell cas­ings at the scene.
