Dru­pat­tie "Judy" Man­groo, 38, of Pipecon Road, Carlsen Field, who got grave­ly ill af­ter con­tract­ing COVID-19 sev­er­al weeks ago, has died at the Er­ic Williams Med­ical Sci­ences Com­plex in Mt Hope.

Man­groo, who was the moth­er of three chil­dren, 13, 12 and six, was high­light­ed in the Guardian on Oc­to­ber 12 as she was in des­per­ate need for help and was un­able to per­form her moth­er­ly du­ties.

Man­groo, who was al­ready strick­en with pover­ty had re­cent­ly lost every­thing in her hum­ble home due to floods in the area.

Man­groo was di­ag­nosed with sco­l­io­sis and doc­tors had in­formed rel­a­tives that her body was gath­er­ing flu­id and poor cir­cu­la­tion of the blood was de­tect­ed.

On Oc­to­ber 14, two days af­ter the ar­ti­cle for help was pub­lished in the T&T Guardian, Man­groo was tak­en to the hos­pi­tal due to her de­te­ri­o­rat­ing health con­di­tion which in­clud­ed se­vere res­pi­ra­to­ry is­sues.

How­ev­er, she suc­cumbed to her med­ical com­pli­ca­tions ear­ly on Tues­day morn­ing.

On Sep­tem­ber 16, Man­groo was hos­pi­talised in the Cou­va Hos­pi­tal af­ter she test­ed pos­i­tive with COVID-19.

Man­groo's rel­a­tives who are al­so pover­ty-strick­en are plead­ing for help by mem­bers of the pub­lic to help bury her and take care of her three sur­viv­ing chil­dren.
