A 42-year-old mo­torist was killed in a me­di­an crossover crash along the Solomon Ho­choy High­way near Tarou­ba short­ly be­fore mid­night.

Keron Ap­ple­whaite, of Mara­bel­la, died at the scene.

Around 11.45 pm, Ap­ple­whaite was dri­ving his sil­ver AD Wag­on north along the high­way, while an­oth­er ve­hi­cle, a grey Kia Soren­to dri­ven by a 35-year-old man from Palmiste, was head­ing south.

The dri­ver told po­lice he lost con­trol of his ve­hi­cle, veered off the road on­to the me­di­an, and slammed in­to Ap­ple­whaite’s car, which end­ed up in the bush­es.

The Soren­to dri­ver suf­fered in­juries and was treat­ed at the San Fer­nan­do Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal.

Of­fi­cers from the Mon Re­pos Po­lice Sta­tion and High­way Pa­trol, along with fire of­fi­cers from the Mon Re­pos Head­quar­ters, re­spond­ed.
