A 42-year-old motorist was killed in a median crossover crash along the Solomon Hochoy Highway near Tarouba shortly before midnight.
Keron Applewhaite, of Marabella, died at the scene.
Around 11.45 pm, Applewhaite was driving his silver AD Wagon north along the highway, while another vehicle, a grey Kia Sorento driven by a 35-year-old man from Palmiste, was heading south.
The driver told police he lost control of his vehicle, veered off the road onto the median, and slammed into Applewhaite’s car, which ended up in the bushes.
The Sorento driver suffered injuries and was treated at the San Fernando General Hospital.
Officers from the Mon Repos Police Station and Highway Patrol, along with fire officers from the Mon Repos Headquarters, responded.
Investigations are ongoing.
