The Chair­man of the Princes Town Re­gion­al Cor­po­ra­tion is call­ing on res­i­dents and mo­torists to avoid us­ing ar­eas which are present­ly un­der flood wa­ter in the Bar­rack­pore area.

In a me­dia re­lease, Chair­man Gowrie Roop­nar­ine said present­ly Kan­hai Road South, Kan­hai Road North, Ram­lal Trace, Poui Road, Cun­jal and oth­er sur­round­ing ar­eas are se­vere­ly af­fect­ed by flood wa­ters.

The Chair­man in­di­cat­ed that the Princes Town Re­gion­al Cor­po­ra­tion to­geth­er with its Dis­as­ter Man­age­ment Unit is work­ing and try­ing to ren­der aid, "but has to wait un­til the flood wa­ter re­cedes to en­ter and as­sist."

The roads in these ar­eas are im­pass­able and Chair­man urged mo­torists to ex­er­cise ex­treme cau­tion and de­sist from ven­tur­ing in­to these flood-af­fect­ed ar­eas.
