A 49-year-old man is in police custody, after he reportedly stabbed another man to death following an argument near a Tacarigua bar on Sunday.
Police said Nigel Foster, 49, was liming near a bar on Huggins Street around 6.30 pm, when he got into an argument with another man.
During the argument, the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed Foster once in his upper leg.
Foster ran away before collapsing near the corner of Deosaran Street, while his attacker escaped.
Officers of the Arouca Police Station visited the scene with an ambulance; however, Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) could not find any signs of life.
A district medical officer declared Foster dead at the scene.
Hours later, the suspect walked into the St Joseph Police Station, where he was cautioned by police and arrested.
Sources said the suspect had several minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment and remained under police guard.
Officers of the Region II Homicide Bureau are continuing inquiries.
