The murder toll increased by three between Tuesday night and yesterday, following shootings in Petit Valley, Tunapuna and Bon Air, respectively.
In the first incident, around 8.25 pm on Tuesday, one man was killed while a second man was injured following a shooting at the corner of Simeon Road and Sparrow Drive, Petit Valley.
The deceased was identified as Jerome Oliver, 33, of Sparrow Drive, Petit Valley.
Oliver was part of a group that had been liming on the road when an unknown silver wagon drove up to them.
A gunman wearing a hoodie exited the car and opened fire on the group.
The gunman ran back to his waiting car and escaped as the group realised Oliver was bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds about his body.
Efforts were made to revive him, but proved unsuccessful.
Oliver was declared dead by the District Medical Officer at the scene.
Seven 9 mm spent shells were recovered at the scene.
In the second shooting, around 11.30 pm yesterday in Tunapuna, Kwami Huyjhew, 27, of By-Pass Road, Arima, was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.
Enquiries are continuing into the circumstances surrounding the shooting, which reportedly occurred in Lovell Street, Monte Grande, Tunapuna.
Huyjhew was dropped off at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, Mt Hope, by an unknown man, bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds.
He was found to be unresponsive and declared dead on arrival by medical officials.
The police were contacted and arrived to collect available information before heading to the alleged scene of the attack.
In the third murder around 9 am yesterday, Abdur Mohammed, 40, of Maloney Gardens, left the Bon Air High School, where he is employed as a maintenance worker, and went to Woodstar Avenue to purchase cigarettes.
While there, however, it is alleged that an armed man approached him from behind and fired several shots in his direction.
Mohammed ran a short distance before collapsing, while being pursued by the gunman who followed and kept on firing.
The gunman later fled in a waiting vehicle.
Enquiries are continuing into all the killings.
