Min­is­ter of So­cial De­vel­op­ment and Fam­i­ly Ser­vices, Don­na Cox, pre­sent­ed In­stru­ments of Ap­point­ment on Thurs­day to four per­sons who will serve as Mem­bers of the Nar­i­va/Ma­yaro Lo­cal Board.

The Nar­i­va/Ma­yaro Board Mem­bers in­clude:

2. Fran­cia Pan­choo

3. Wendy Charles

4. Asha Hard­eo

The ap­pointees are re­quired to at­tend Lo­cal Board and As­sess­ment Meet­ings for the pur­pose of scru­ti­niz­ing ap­pli­ca­tions for Se­nior Cit­i­zens’ Pen­sion, Pub­lic As­sis­tance and Dis­abil­i­ty As­sis­tance Grant and Bur­ial As­sis­tance Grant and for mak­ing de­ci­sions on ap­pli­cants on mer­its ac­cord­ing to the Acts, poli­cies, reg­u­la­tions and guide­lines.

In thank­ing the mem­bers for their will­ing­ness to serve, Min­is­ter Cox told the new mem­bers that their ap­point­ments are valu­able as they form part of the Min­istry’s con­tin­ued ef­forts to achiev­ing the na­tion­al strate­gic goals out­lined in the Na­tion­al De­vel­op­ment Strat­e­gy (2016-2030)/ (Vi­sion 2030) re­gard­ing the erad­i­ca­tion of pover­ty and the en­hance­ment of the lives of the vul­ner­a­ble.
