A 32-year-old de­liv­ery dri­ver of St Fran­cois Val­ley Road, Bel­mont, was shot sev­er­al times by armed men on Tues­day, as he de­liv­ered sup­plies in the Long­denville area.

Po­lice said the vic­tim, who is em­ployed with Na­tion­al Flour Mills, was re­port­ed­ly dri­ving the com­pa­ny’s white Mit­subishi Can­ter Truck south along St Louis Dri­ve, Long­denville, around 3.30 pm on Ju­ly 8, when

two gun­men ran out in­to the road­way and opened fire on the ve­hi­cle.

As the vic­tim drove off, he felt a burn­ing sen­sa­tion in both legs and looked down to see blood ooz­ing from gun­shot wounds to both thighs.

As of­fi­cers from the Long­denville Po­lice Post ar­rived, they found the vic­tim parked on the road and they took him to the Ch­agua­nas Health Fa­cil­i­ty, where he was treat­ed be­fore be­ing trans­ferred to the Er­ic Williams Med­ical Sci­ences Com­plex, Mt Hope, where he re­mains in sta­ble con­di­tion.

Po­lice said a to­tal of eight 9 mm shell cas­ings were re­cov­ered at the scene.
