Police are yet to arrest the person who robbed and killed a San Fernando pensioner at his home on Friday.
Kelvin Chan, believed to be in his late 60s, was found dead by his brother Louis Chan around 1.25 pm on Friday.
Police said Louis and his caretaker Devanand Maharaj, 64, left home to go to Scotia Bank at Cipero Street, San Fernando, which is walking distance from Chan's home.
When they returned they found Chan lying on the ground covered with a floral bed sheet and galvanize. He was wearing a cream brown and red stripe T-shirt, blue boxers, long blue jeans, and a black mask over his nose and mouth. A pair of black and white puma slippers were lying nearby.
Police said there was a wound to Chan's head.
The body bore an apparent wound to the forehead. Police believe that Chan was robbed and then killed. he lived upstairs while Louis, who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease, lives downstairs
Ag Supt Dhillpaul, Insp Phillip and Lewis as well as Sgt Elvin, Cpl Bridgemohan and PC Siewdath visited the scene and are continuing investigations.
