The two men, whose body parts were found in garbage bags in a stream in Cunupia on Monday, are yet to be identified by relatives.

Guardian Media understands their remains were not taken to the Forensic Science Centre, St James, yesterday. It is, however, expected that they will be turned over to officials today.

The gruesome find just after 1 pm on Monday at Mon Plaisir Road, sent shockwaves through police and the public alike, as news spread that the men had been gutted, cut up and dumped.

One official remarked that the find, which filled three body trays, resembled that of, “a poultry shop-style killing.”

The body parts, entrails and heads of the two victims were found in garbage bags that were dumped in the ravine, in an area commonly referred to as Campo.

The remains were allegedly discovered by a man who claimed to be picking flowers for a Divali puja.

While the identities of the two victims were yet to be determined up to yesterday, they were believed to be two men reported missing in the Central district on Saturday.

One of the victims was said have a tattoo on his chest, while there were no visible markings or tattoos on the second victim.
